For many environmental organizations, Congressional lobbying and lipservice is the rule, while the critical habitat continues to be lost at staggering rates. While Congressional lobbying by environmental organizations has it's place, America's wildlife needs habitat, plain and simple and can not survive on good sentiment alone.

 

This is where Before They Are Gone will differ from many traditional environmental groups. Our number one priority will be be to acquire habitat for permanent protection and the encouragement of landowners to preserve and manage privately held habitat.

 

 

 

2) To partner with landowners in protecting and managing critical habitat they own.

 

3) To foster an interest in protecting and managing "common" species BEFORE populations decline.

 

Initially, all efforts will be focused in the state of Minnesota, with a goal of nationwide prescence as soon as possible.
